By looking at the preliminary task i became aware that it is not of a very good standard and i have decided to redo it. The camera is not based on the 180 degree rule and is only placed in one position. When the two chararcters are talking, even though it flicks between them, you are not able to see in any way eye contact between the two as they are both looking in completely different places. One is looking at the camera virtually the whole time.

Danger Dream Title
Mood Board
This mood board really represents a number of different features in the film and it has a mixture of settings and scenarios in the board. In the mood board it shows victory, celebration, injury and isolation. It represents what the film is about - basketball - and it shows the main setting. These pictures represent the type of mise-en-scene that i want to use, in the opening of the film i would mainly like to use close ups and medium shots and i'd like the colour to be bright instead of dull and dark which i would be used for later on in the film.

Music choice for the opening
After researching and going through a number of different tracks i've decided that the track that i'll use for the opening of my film will be Maino feat T-Pain - All the Above. I'm still undecided as to whether the track will be instrumental but i think the lyrics just in the opening of the track really resemble the character through out the story and the music really gives you a sense of an opening. Lyrics such as 'tell me what you see when you're looking at me', 'i'm on a mission to be what i'm destined to be' and 'the struggle is nothing but love', really give you a sense about what the character is like and also it gives the audience watching a possible sense of events that are going to occur.

Audience Research
I've now managed to conduct audience research for my film. The Video will be posted on the blog shortly.
The Questions that i asked people were:
1) What Genre of film do you like and why?
2) What do you like to see in the opening of a film?
3) Are there any openings of a film that you particularly like?
4) Do you like credits at the beginning of a film?

17 Again

17 Again is a story about a father who's marriage is falling part and in a last ditch attempt to correct everything who goes back to school as a 17 year old. The opening of the film begins in his original years at high school, you see him alone in the gym taking shots at the basket - you get a sense of his importance and when the coach comes in and speak to him your thoughts become correct. The beginning also establishes the relationship between him and his girlfriend at the time - who then become his wife - and he shows his feelings for her when he walks out of a game just to comfort her. Just in these opening few minutes you are able to get a sense of the main character himself and his personality but also the relationship between him and his girlfriend.
Goal! The Dream Begins
Goal! The Dream Begins is a film based on a young footballer from mexico. The film opens with him and his family running away and when they reach the fence to climb through into another border, he drops his football which is one of his most prized possessions. He tries to run after it but his father pulls him away. This foreshadows later events in the film in which he becomes closer to his love which is football and he loses his father who dies. Just in this short opening sequence you're able to get an understanding about the characters involved and the background they're involved in.
Opening Ideas
I have come up with a basic structure to the film. The clip will mainly focus on his pre match preparations for the game. I am aiming for the opening to be him gettin his kit out of his locker, and then when he shuts it the film title will come up on the locker. The main aim of the opening is to bring a sense of isolation which will foreshadow later events, to do this he'll be changing alone in the changing rooms and he'll be shooting on the court before everyoe else arrives.
Action Plan
Over the next two weeks i'm aiming to do interviews with people about their favourite sort of film and what they like to have at the beggining. I'm also aiming to go out and film some different shots which i will hope to use in my film - this however will only be a practice and i'm aiming to film most of it in the Leisure Centre.
